Add real-time analytics to your Wix site

1. Get your tracking code
   Sign up free at HitCounters, add your Wix site URL, and copy the 16-character tracking code.
2. Open your Wix dashboard
   In your Wix dashboard, go to Settings (left sidebar) and look for Custom Code under Advanced. (Custom Code requires a Premium plan; if you're on the free plan, see the alternative below.)
3. Add a new code snippet
   Click + Add Custom Code. Paste the snippet:

   Replace YOURCODE with your tracking code.
4. Configure where it loads
   • Add Code to Pages: All pages
   • Place Code in: Head
   • Load code on: Each new page
5. Apply and verify
   Click Apply. Open your published Wix site in a new tab to trigger a pageview, then return to your HitCounters Sites page and click Verify.

Wix's free plan locks Custom Code, which makes adding any analytics tool harder. Two paths: (1) upgrade to a Premium plan; (2) use Wix's HTML iFrame element to embed a hidden tracking pixel — this works but only counts the page where the iframe is embedded. We recommend the Premium upgrade for proper site-wide tracking.

Why does Wix have its own analytics?

Wix Analytics is fine for top-level numbers but doesn't give you per-visitor logs, AI source detection, or engagement breakdowns. Most serious site owners run a second tool alongside it.

Will it slow my Wix site?

No. The tracker is async, under 25 KB, and Wix's own performance tooling won't complain.

Does it work on Wix Editor X / Studio?

Yes — both classic Wix and Wix Studio expose the same Custom Code feature in Settings.
